Martin Kenney is Distinguished Professor of Community and Regional Development at the University of California, Davis.<\/p>\n
His research interests are in the dynamics of digital platforms, entrepreneurial high-technology regions, university-industry technology transfer, the development of the venture capital industry, and the impact of new technologies on industrial structures and labor relations. He has co-authored or edited seven books and has published over 170 scholarly articles on industrial clusters, entrepreneurship, venture capital, innovation, university-industry relations, and value chain development.<\/p>\n
In addition to his research Kenney is a Co-Director of the Berkeley Roundtable on the International Economy and a Senior Fellow at the Research Institute of the Finnish Economy, as well as being an Affiliated Professor at the Instituto di Management at the Scuola Superiore Sant\u2019Anna in Pisa, Italy. He has been a visiting scholar at the Copenhagen Business School, Cambridge, Hitotsubashi, Kobe, Stanford, and Tokyo Universities. Kenney is a receiving editor at the world\u2019s premier innovation research journal, Research Policy. His research has been funded by the NSF, the Kauffman, Sloan, and Matsushita Foundations, among others. He has given over 500 lectures at universities, government agencies, and corporations in Europe, Asia and North and South America.<\/p>\n
